The Essen Haus Hosts the Dogs Days of Summer in Madison,

Saturday, July 23rd, 2011
Madison  Madison’s Essen Haus and The Come Back In are hosting their first annual dog fest, The The event will be held in the parking lot of the Come Back In and Essen Haus and will feature live music, food, beer and soft drinks, and dogs, dogs, dogs and more.

All the best dogs will be heading downtown to the Come Back In and Essen Haus on July 23 for The Dog Days of Summer. Dogs of all varieties, persuasions, mixes, creeds, and orientation and their human caretakers are welcome.
The Event– Dog Days of Summer will be held on July 23, 2011 from 1 PM to 6 PM at the Essen Haus & Come Back In 514 E. Wilson St. downtown, Madison. Christine Bellport from NBC 15 will serve as an emcee. A panel of judges will judge the dog contests (no real skill needed – by dogs or judges!). The excitement will reach a fever pitch with the crowning of King and Queen Schnitzel. Prizes will be awarded and finally Madison’s finest dogs will strut their stuff in a dog parade.
Free Stuff!!! The first 100 dogs will receive goodie bag of items donated by local dog loving businesses. Every beer purchase comes with a dog treat. The beer is only for humans, but the dog treats may be consumed by dogs or humans.

Talbot Photography will be on hand to photograph your dog and offer prints at affordable prices.
Ivan the K-9 wonder of the Madison Police Department and his handler Officer Wilson will be on hand to wow the crowd with their skills and training. And we can’t forget the beloved crime-fighting costumed dog, Detective McGruff or he might take a bite out of us!

The Dog Days of Summer is a benefit for the Dane County Humane Society.
Entertainment: Live at Nine play on outdoor stage from 12:30- 5:30!

Food and German bier to is available! Some are brats, burgers, grilled chicken & pulled pork sandwiches. The Essen Haus has largest selection of biers in Madison.

Alcohol will be available, which makes this a 21 and older event, minors are welcome with supervision of a parent or guardian.
